Answer:
Yes..I say there is neither in the Book nor in the Sunnah that which gives allowance for numerous groups and parties1, rather what is found in the Book and the Sunnah makes that blameworthy. Allaah the Most High mentions:
Åöäøó ÇáøóÐöíäó ÝóÑøóÞõæÇú Ïöíäóåõãú æóßóÇäõæÇú ÔöíóÚðÇ áøóÓúÊó ãöäúåõãú Ýöí ÔóíúÁò ÅöäøóãóÇ ÃóãúÑõåõãú Åöáóì Çááøåö Ëõãøó íõäóÈøöÆõåõã ÈöãóÇ ßóÇäõæÇú íóÝúÚóáõæäó
Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects), you (O Muhammad) have no concern in them in the least. Their affair is only with Allaah, Who then will tell them what they used to do.2
And He the Most High mentions:
ßõáøõ ÍöÒúÈò ÈöãóÇ áóÏóíúåöãú ÝóÑöÍõæäó
? each sect rejoicing in that which is with it. 3
And there is no doubt that these sects (Ahzaab) are in contradiction to that which Allaah has ordered with, rather with that which Allaah has impelled with, in His saying:
æóÅöäøó åóÐöåö ÃõãøóÊõßõãú ÃõãøóÉð æóÇÍöÏóÉð æóÃóäóÇ ÑóÈøõßõãú ÝóÇÊøóÞõæäö
And verily! This your Ummah is one Ummah, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me.4
