Question:
Is the Recitation of (surah) al-Faatihah between the two khutbahs of Jumu?ah Sunnah or Bid?ah? هل قراءة الفاتحة بين خطبتي الجمعة سنة أو بدعة؟

Answer:
All praise is due to Allaah, its recitation (Surah tul-Fatihah) between the two Jumu?ah sermons is not established; Neither from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم nor from his Companions رضي الله عنهم , from that which we know. Therefore the recitation of it between the two sermons is an innovation (bid?ah). And Allaah is the Granter of success, and may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and his Companions.
الحمد لله لم تثبت قراءتها بين خطبتي الجمعة، لا عن النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - ولا عن أصحابه رضي الله عنهم فيما نعلم، فقراءتها بينهما بدعة. وبالله التوفيق وصلى الله على نبينا محمد وآله وصحبه وسلم
