Why Explanation Works in Hadeeth by The Early Salaf Were So Few

Indeed the majority of those that made explanations of the books of Hadeeth were from amongst the Ash?arees. Whilst the Salaf who made explanations of these books were one in a hundred. Indeed the Scholars of the Salaf did not have a Empire (State) which could help and aid them for the most part. In contrast to the Ash?arees and the Maaturidiyyah and the Mu?tazilah and other than them.
All of these had an Empire for themselves; and so for this reason the Scholars of the Salaf who made explanations of the books of Hadeeth were such few.
