Indeed the ‘Ulamaa of Hind (India) in later times worked hard in spreading the books of Hadeeth and printing them as well as busying themselves with them, for they were influenced by the ‘Ulamaa of Yemen such as Ash-Shawkaanee and As-San’aanee.
Indeed the Indians would print the books but they would not bring about checkings of them at all; for their intent was to distribute them only. No one revived the knowledge of Hadeeth after it had passed away except for the Indians - and they were the students of the two Yemenis; As-San’aanee and Ash-Shawkaanee.
