Praying whilst wearing a thawb which does not conceal that which is under it
Question:

Is it permissible for a Muslim to pray whilst he is wearing a thawb which reveals what is under it?
Answer:

The awrah (part of the body which must be covered) of a man in the prayer is that which is between the navel and the knee; so whoever prays and he is exposing something from it (the awrah) must repeat the prayer.

And likewise this is the ruling upon the one who wears a thin item of clothing, such that the skin can be seen from behind and the person prays (in this condition) so repeating the prayer is obligatory upon him.

And with Allaah is the tawfeeq. And may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
