Was ibn Taymiyyah from ahl us sunnah wal jamaa'ah?
Question:

Some people say: Indeed ibn Taymiyyah was not from ahl us sunnah wal jamaa’ah, and he was misguided and misguided others – and upon this (opinion) were ibn Hajr and other than him. Is their statement true or not?
Answer:

Indeed Ash Shaykh Ahmad ibn ‘Abdil Haleem ibn Taymiyyah was an imam from the imaams of ahl us sunnah wal jamaa’ah. He called the people to the Truth and to the Straight Path.

Allaah indeed aided the sunnah through him and subdued the people of innovation and deviation through him. And who passes a judgement other than this upon him is an innovator, misguided, and misguiding others. Indeed they were blinded by misconceptions, so they consider the Truth to be Falsehood and the Falsehood to be Truth.

A person will know this whose insight has been illuminated by Allaah and who has read his books and the books of his opponents, and who has compared his life story with their life stories.

And this is the best witness and distinction between the two groups.

And with Allaah is the tawfeeq. And may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
