The Expansion has the same ruling of the Original

Question:
Concerning the Prophet's statement:
"A (single) prayer in this Masjid of mine is worth a thousand prayers." ( Ahmad 2:397, 528)
Is this restrictive to the boundaries of his Masjid that existed in his time or does it include all of the current structure?
|
Answer:
His Masjid was smaller that it is now and so was the Sacred Masjid (of Makkah). However, the Rightly-Guided Caliphs added to both of them and so did those who came after them. And the ruling concerning that which is added, is the same as the ruling for that which has been added to, in all of the related laws.
